Wrigley Memorial & Botanical Gardens, Avalon, Santa Catalina Island, California, USA

The Wrigley Memorial honors the memory of William Wrigley Jr., who lived from 1861 to 1932. Although best known as the owner of the largest chewing gum company in the world, he also played an instrumental role in the history of Catalina Island.

In 1935, his wife, Ada Wrigley, commissioned Pasadena horticulturalist Albert Conrad to plant a garden , today known as the Desert Plant Collection. In 1969, the Garden was expanded and reconfigured to emphasize plants of the Channel Islands and those that are endemic to Catalina Island. Wrigley memorial building is located in the garden.

These bronze doors, created by Coleman Bronze Company, in Chicago in 1934. Are made of only the the best quality bronze (90% copper) and the castings are no less than 3/16″ thick at any point.
